why I formulate: the Science behind Small-Batch herbal tea
Share
Dear friend,
Not all tea is created equal. Many teas you'll find on the market are mass-produced, over-processed, or simply thrown together without much thought for how the herbs actually work. I do things differently. I formulate!
What Formulation Actually Means
Formulation isn't just mixing herbs. It's understanding how each ingredient interacts, in precise ratios, to support the nervous system, emotional balance, digestion, and overall wellness. Every blend I create is designed to work as a complete system, not just a combination of flavors.
For example, a teaspoon of one herb may be calming on its own, but when paired with another herb at the right ratio, it can enhance focus, balance emotional response, or improve digestion. Too much or too little of any single herb changes the effect entirely! Precision matters.
Hand-Packed vs. Industrial Bags
I hand-pack every tea in small batches, ensuring precision in every cup. Industrial loose tea or machine-packed bags often sacrifice consistency: herbs can be unevenly distributed, incorrectly measured, or over-processed, reducing both flavor and potency. With hand-packing, I can maintain exact ratios, preserve herbal integrity, and deliver a consistent experience every time.
Why Small-Batch Care Matters
Small batches are about intention and integrity. Each pouch is measured carefully, every herb is selected for freshness and potency, and the blends are tested to make sure they deliver the intended effect. When you drink one of my teas, you're getting a precise, thoughtful experience.
Formulation to me is science & art. <3 it's why I do what I do.
